Wordle #1,966 hints and answer for Friday, November 6, 2026

Edited by Tracy Bennett · 5 letters · Spoiler-free until you choose otherwise

Today's Wordle is a word for worthless rubbish: the stuff you sweep up, clear out and throw away without a second thought about where it lands. The board gives you a single vowel in the middle and no repeated letters at all, so every slot carries fresh information - the trap is the stack of consonants piled up behind that vowel. Work down the hint ladder as far as you need, then check the answer box at the bottom when you are ready for it.

Hint 1 of 5

Think trash: this is the word for junk, dross and worthless material - the leavings nobody wants.

Hint 2 of 5

There is exactly one vowel: E, sitting in third place. The other four slots are consonants.

Hint 3 of 5

It is a noun, and no letter repeats: all five letters are different. It ends in the hard CK sound.

Hint 4 of 5

It starts with D.

Hint 5 of 5

It ends with K, and the first four letters are DREC.

DRECK

DRECK: trash or worthless material - a Yiddish borrowing (from German for dirt and filth) that English uses for junk of the lowest quality. The near-misses are the vowel swaps: WRECK tempts with its silent W, and TREK and DECK both sit one letter away while you hunt for a second vowel that never comes.
