How it works
Type a ? or a * for a blank tile, up to two blanks. A blank can stand for any letter, but it works only once in each word, and the letter it plays scores 0 in both games. Every other tile can also be used only once, so a word never needs more copies of a letter than you entered, plus your blanks. After each word, the two scores are Scrabble first and Words With Friends second: SILENT, for example, scores 6 in Scrabble and 8 in Words With Friends. Words are grouped by length, longest first, and sorted alphabetically inside each group. If more than 600 words match, the page shows the first 600 and tells you how many more there are.
About this word list
The list is built from SCOWL, the spell-checker word lists, and runs to 114,435 words of two letters or more. It is a finder, not an official game dictionary: Scrabble and Words With Friends edit their lists by hand, so this tool can offer a word a game will not accept, and it can miss a rare word a game allows.
