Wordle Solver
Stuck mid-board? Enter a guess you have already played, then tap each tile until its color matches the color the game showed you: gray once more for green, once more for yellow. Add another guess if you have played one, then find every word that still fits.
Your guesses
Tap a tile to change its color. Gray means the letter is not in the word (beyond any copies already shown green or yellow), yellow means it is in the word but not in that spot, and green locks it in place.
How duplicate letters work
Wordle colors each tile against the answer, one copy at a time. If the answer holds one E and your guess plays two, the first E can turn yellow or green while the second stays gray - that gray tile does not rule E out, it caps the count at one. This solver follows the same rule: green and yellow tiles set the minimum count for a letter, and a gray tile caps it at the count already shown in that guess.
About this word list
The list is built from SCOWL, the spell-checker word lists - the same source as our Spelling Bee Solver - plus every official Wordle answer in our archive. Against the 12 answers in our October 15 to 27, 2026 archive, the base list found all 12. The NYT edits its answer list by hand, so the tool can miss a rare word, and it will offer some words the NYT would never pick as an answer; treat the results as every plausible candidate, not a promise. For a specific day, use that day's page: today's Wordle or the Wordle answers archive.
