Strands hints and answers for Tuesday, November 3, 2026
Today's Strands board is a choir loft: five theme words, and every one of them names a person who sings - from the plain everyday word to the nine-letter formal ones - plus a spangram that tells you, in three short words joined into one, exactly what a singer does with a tune when the whole choir joins in.

Take the clue at face value: every theme word is a kind of singer - the person at the microphone, in the choir, or wandering with a songbook.
The five words are BALLADEER, CHORISTER, CROONER, SINGER and VOCALIST. The two long ones do the same job from different centuries: a BALLADEER sings narrative songs, and a CHORISTER sings in a choir.
The spangram is nine letters and reads as three everyday words joined together: the instruction you would give a singer who is holding back.
Spangram and theme words
The spangram first, then all five theme words.
