NYT theme clue: "High and mighty" · Edited by Tracy Bennett

Today's Strands board climbs: seven theme words for the high places of a mountain landscape - cliffs, glaciers, ridges and the snow on top - plus a spangram that names the very top in two plain words joined into one.

Hints, in order

Hint 0 of 3

Hint 1 of 3

Take the clue literally: every theme word belongs up a mountain - the landforms you cross, the ice you meet, and the white stuff near the top.

Hint 2 of 3

The seven words are CLIFF, GLACIER, PEAK, RIDGE, SADDLE, SNOW and SUMMIT. The odd one out is SADDLE - on a mountain it is the low dip between two peaks, the pass you cross to get from one side to the other.

Hint 3 of 3 - Spangram

The spangram is eleven letters and reads as two everyday words joined together: the top of a mountain, said as plainly as it can be said.
