Clue 1 is Tailfin. On its own it points in several directions at once - Pinpoint loves an opener that leans the wrong way, so hold it loosely.
Clue 2 is Gondola. Set it next to clue 1 and ask what single category could hold both.
Clue 3 is Propeller. Three clues in, the category is usually within reach - most solves land here or on the next clue.
Clue 4 is Ballonets (inflatable bags). If the first three left room for doubt, this one should narrow the category to a single answer.
