What time does the Mini Crossword reset?
The Mini Crossword does not wait for midnight: the next day's puzzle is posted at 10:00 PM Eastern the evening before, and Sunday's puzzle posts earlier, at 6:00 PM Eastern on Saturday. Clue Cache publishes its Mini page at the midnight Eastern rollover each night, seven nights a week.
The release time
One exception: Sunday's Mini posts earlier, at 6:00 PM Eastern on Saturday, which is 5:00 PM Central, 4:00 PM Mountain and 3:00 PM Pacific. Unlike the word games on this page's sibling guides, the Mini is a crossword, and NYT crosswords have always gone up the evening before their date.
When Clue Cache publishes: our Mini page flips at the midnight Eastern rollover, minutes after the new day's data rolls over on our feed, even though the puzzle itself has been playable in the NYT app since the evening.
