What time does Connections reset?
Connections resets at midnight in your local time zone, so a fresh board of sixteen words appears as soon as your own clock rolls into the next day. Clue Cache publishes its Connections hints just after midnight Eastern, before the later zones reach their own flip.
The reset time
Those four midnights are not one single moment. Eastern players flip first in the United States, then Central an hour later, Mountain an hour after that, and Pacific an hour after that. If a friend across the country already has the new board and you do not, your own midnight has probably not arrived yet.
When Clue Cache publishes: our Connections hints go up minutes after the midnight Eastern rollover, so they are ready before the Central, Mountain and Pacific flips.
Questions
- Does Connections reset at the same moment for everyone?
No. Connections follows your local clock, so players in different time zones get the new board at different moments. Everyone in the same time zone on the same date plays the same sixteen words.
- It is past midnight and I still see yesterday's board. What should I do?
Reload the game or close and reopen the app. If it still shows the old board, check that your device clock and time zone are set correctly, since the game reads the time from your device.
- Can I finish yesterday's board after the reset?
No. Once your local clock rolls over, the game moves on to the new board. Finish the day's four groups before your midnight if the day matters to you.
