What time does Pips reset?
Pips resets at midnight in your local time zone, so fresh Easy, Medium and Hard boards appear as soon as your own clock rolls into the next day. Clue Cache publishes its Pips hints just after midnight Eastern, before the later zones reach their own flip.
The reset time
Those four midnights are not one single moment. Eastern players flip first in the United States, then Central an hour later, Mountain an hour after that, and Pacific an hour after that. If a friend across the country already has the new boards and you do not, your own midnight has probably not arrived yet.
When Clue Cache publishes: our Pips hints go up minutes after the midnight Eastern rollover, so they are ready before the Central, Mountain and Pacific flips.
Questions
- Do all three Pips boards reset at the same time?
Yes. The Easy, Medium and Hard boards are one daily set, and all three change together at your local midnight. Finishing one board early does not start the next day sooner.
- It is past midnight and I still see yesterday's boards. What should I do?
Reload the game or close and reopen the app. If it still shows the old boards, check that your device clock and time zone are set correctly, since the game reads the time from your device.
- Does Pips reset at the same moment for everyone?
No. Pips follows your local clock, so players in different time zones get the new boards at different moments. Everyone in the same time zone on the same date plays the same three boards.
