Queens #911 hints and answers for Wednesday, October 28, 2026

LinkedIn Queens · 7x7 grid · One queen per row, column and region · Spoiler-free until you choose otherwise

Seven queens on a 7x7 board, and Wednesday's solution keeps every queen off the corners - the middle of the board does all the work. The hints below climb from the shape of the solution to its top half - take only as many as you need.

Hints, in order

Hint 0 of 4

Tap to show one hint at a time. Stop as soon as you have enough.

Hint 1 of 4

No queen sits in a corner today - all seven live in the board's interior rows and columns.

Hint 2 of 4

The top row's queen sits in the Pastel Green region, and the bottom row's queen sits in the Peach Orange region.

Hint 3 of 4

Two queens hug the left and right edges without touching a corner: row 3 runs to column 7, and row 6 pulls back to column 1.

Hint 4 of 4

The top half of the board, rows 1 to 3, uses columns 6, 2 and 7 in that order.

The solution

Every queen's column, row by row, with the region each queen sits in. Only tap if you are ready.

Column 6Row 1 · Pastel Green
Column 2Row 2 · Lavender
Column 7Row 3 · Light Gray
Column 5Row 4 · Soft Blue
Column 3Row 5 · Lime Yellow
Column 1Row 6 · Vibrant Coral
Column 4Row 7 · Peach Orange

Columns by row, 1 to 7: 6, 2, 7, 5, 3, 1, 4. No two queens share a row, column or region, and no two touch, not even diagonally.

How Queens works

Queens is LinkedIn's region logic puzzle. The board is carved into colored regions, and you place exactly one queen in every row, every column and every region - with no two queens touching, not even diagonally. There is always exactly one solution, and it is always reachable by logic alone. This page gives each queen's position and region; it does not draw the region map.
